Shared Services Accountant

The Position:
We are looking for a Shared Services Accountant to join our Finance team in Kifissia. The main objective of the role is to support the accounting operations of multiple entities within the Group, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance through centralized processes. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a growing Shared Services Center environment.

Reporting to the Finance Shared Services Manager you will be responsible and accountable for:
 
• Handle accounting operations for multiple entities, including Balkan affiliates of the Group
• Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Support monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes
• Prepare and maintain accounting records in compliance with internal policies and regulations
• Process invoices, payments, and expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
• Perform cost accounting activities, including product costing, variance analysis, and margin monitoring
• Maintain accurate inventory and warehouse accounting records 
• Reconcile warehouse stock with accounting records and investigate discrepancies
• Assist in the preparation of financial reports and management reporting
• Support tax-related activities (e.g. VAT declarations, filings) in collaboration with external partners where required
• Ensure standardization and consistency of accounting processes across entities
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve discrepancies and improve processes
• Participate in audits by providing required documentation and analysis
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of Shared Services processes and systems

Qualifications & Competencies required:
• 5+ years of experience in accounting or similar role
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field
• Basic knowledge of accounting standards (IFRS)
• Good knowledge of Cost accounting
• Familiarity with ERP systems
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Good analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work in a team and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications considered as an asset:
• Experience in a Shared Services Center environment
• Exposure to multi-entity or multinational accounting environments
• Previous experience in retail or commercial companies
