As part of the anniversary event marking 30 years of activity of Make-A-Wish Greece, IKEA, a Fourlis Group company, was honored with two significant awards in recognition of its longstanding and meaningful contribution to granting wishes for children with serious illnesses.
The awards ceremony took place on Monday, April 27, 2026, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, during the event “Thank You… Differently,” dedicated to the organization’s supporters. This was followed by the anniversary event “30 Years Thank You,” featuring a retrospective of the organization’s journey and special recognition of its most important donors. IKEA was distinguished both for its substantial support in 2025 and for its consistent contribution as a major sponsor over the years.
From 2013 to 2025, IKEA has actively contributed to the fulfillment of 224 children’s wishes by providing products to furnish and personalize their rooms, with the total value of donations exceeding €110,000. Through this partnership, a meaningful impact has been created in the lives of children and their families, while further strengthening the organization’s mission.
The awards were received by Ada Gianneskis, Communications Director of IKEA for Greece, Cyprus, and Bulgaria, who stated: “For us at IKEA, every child’s smile is the greatest reward. Our collaboration with Make-A-Wish Greece represents a deeply human commitment to stand by children and their families, creating small yet meaningful moments of joy and hope. We are particularly proud that, through this long-term partnership, we have contributed to fulfilling so many wishes and will continue with the same dedication in the future.”
The event was attended by representatives of the global Make-A-Wish network, including Linda Pauling, founder and mother of the first wish child who inspired the creation of the organization, as well as Luciano Manzo, CEO of Make-A-Wish International.
IKEA remains committed to its vision of creating a better everyday life for many people, supporting initiatives that promote solidarity, giving, and hope.
